Address visualization
All addresses stored in MD-Premium—whether customers, suppliers, or contacts—can be displayed on an interactive road map. MD-Premium uses the map services provided by Here Technologies for this purpose.
The system provides a flexible method for locating addresses. Thanks to freely configurable database queries, you can search the database in any way you like, whether it's your warehouses, open delivery orders, upcoming maintenance, customers of a specific representative, or addresses within a defined radius of your company headquarters.
Layers can be used to display a wide variety of additional information on the map. This can also include information that is not provided by the map provider itself, but is generated in MD-Premium.
Based on these selections, you can set further actions or plan specific tours.
Integrated tour planning
Based on address visualization, you can define a specific route and plan a tour based on it. The system determines the optimal route according to certain parameters such as drive type, vehicle dimensions, and total weight, which is calculated from the delivery orders that are loaded. This ensures that the route can actually be driven without running into unpleasant surprises such as environmental zones or insufficient clearance heights.
MD-Premium GEO calculates the travel times for each section based on the selected route and thus the total time for the tour. You can assign individual stop times for each destination on the route, which are then included in the total time calculation.
If you want to ensure that the first route point is reached at a specific time, the system can determine the necessary departure time from the starting point.
Route planning naturally also takes into account dynamic parameters such as roadworks, traffic jams, and general traffic conditions.
Ressource planning
Even if the planning of a tour is done purely digitally, certain physical assets are essential for its execution, namely drivers, vehicles, and, in the case of delivery drives, appropriate delivery and return warehouses.
MD-Premium's master data management allows you to enter detailed information about warehouses where a delivery route is to start or end. You can define a default warehouse that should always serve as the starting point for a route, or exclude certain warehouses from route planning altogether.
You can manage your company's entire vehicle fleet in MD-Premium. Many vehicle specifications, such as dimensions, engine type, and maximum payload, which can affect route planning, are recorded.
The system ensures that the maximum permissible total weight of a vehicle is not exceeded by the load of the delivery. This also includes returned goods that are reloaded into the vehicle during the delivery process.
